Cyst Tips

Question:
My daughter had her 3 month ultrasound. Thank god no masses were found, however, her pediatrician stated that ovarian cysts were found. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem. I am also
wondering if what we are mistaking for gas could be pain from these cysts. At this point our hospital & doctor believe that they will shrink and will check at her 6 month ultrasound for any changes. I would appreciate any information from anyone who has dealt with this particular problem.

Tip #1
When my daughter was 6 weeks old, she had her second surgery. During the surgery they had found that her liver was in her terms "massive" but would not hurt her and had found a cyst on her ovary. I was shocked!! A 6-week old infant with a cyst. Well, she aspirated it and nothing was found. I guess we will just have to keep an eye on those too!!!

Tip #2
My 14 year old daughter also had cysts on her ovaries that were observed during ultrasounds. The number and size of the cysts varied from check-up to check-up. No complications and no pain. Our doctor suggested just observing them. As she is fourteen, and has not had ultrasounds in several years, we don't know the current status of the cysts. Our doctor also stated that many young girls may have cysts on their ovaries - we just don't know it, because they don't ever get ultrasounds!
