Dry Tongues Tips
(please see disclaimer at the bottom of this page)

Question:
What can I do to help keep my baby's tongue moist when she's sleeping and can't moisten it for herself? When she wakes up in the morning it's completely parched and wrinkled :-(.

Tip #1
When my baby was little,  I went 2-3 times a night to put drops of water on her tongue. This doesn't keep it moist for long, but at least she's not going the whole night with the tongue just getting drier and drier. I know it's awfully uncomfortable for her when it is dry.

Tip #2
Use Lemon-Glycerin Swabsticks. No prescription needed, just ask your pharmacist, if they don't have any in stock ask them to order a box for you. A box of 25 packets (3 swabsticks each packet) was $4.30. The brand name is dynarex.

Tip #3
Vaseline worked great for us and is non-toxic
